Xiaomi has launched the Mi Mix 4

On August 10th 2021 Xiaomi held an online press event for releasing their new premium flagship the  Mi Mix 4. The fourth iteration of Mi Mix lineup comes with a few good features. Lets see this phone brings what to the table.

Over time, Xiaomi has become one of the most reputable brands in the tech world. From the beginning, their main focus was on affordable products. And they delivered affordable yet durable products to their customers too. Aside from that, they have shifted their focus towards other product lines. For example, mi laptops, mi bands, mi box, mi drone, mi WIFI, and mi TV are the most famous product lines from the Xiaomi Brand. They also spend countless hours developing mi scooter, mi smart fans, and mi trimmers.

No matter which item sold in the past, it is ensured to have the most durability possible. That is why people love their products. With this loyalty of the huge fanbase, they have become a developing company now. They spend billions in developing new technology for their phones, wearables, and other product lines. Their under-display camera is a new technology from their research labs. The Xiaomi mi Mix 4 comes with this technology. Although the company has shown a prototype in late August 2020, they are releasing the mainstream product now.

Design

A tech enthusiast cares about the specs and configuration mostly. But an average consumer looks for design first. The Xiaomi mi Mix 4 has a ceramic unibody which strengthens the structure of this phone. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus covers the front display. This design makes the phone durable as well as feels ultra-premium in hand. It follows the design language of the mi 11 ultra and takes it up a notch. If you spend the bucks, this phone will not disappoint with its design.

Mi Mix 4 feels premium with ceramic and glass design in every color

The ceramic body will feel ultra-premium with a glass front. The full-screen design with curved sides makes this phone one of a kind. The owner of this device will also feel the same holding it in hand.

Display

When you look at the official photos from Xiaomi, the display will attract you first. Almost 99% screen-to-body ratio, the uninterrupted front end is there to make you feel special. A 1080p+ resolution with 400ppi ensures a seamless viewing experience. The display has a 120hz refresh rate along with 480hz touch sampling. This spec will ensure the smoothest gaming experience.

The main attraction will be the full-screen viewing experience. As it is the first mainstream Xiaomi phone working under-display technology, you can be a little bit skeptical. We have seen devices like ZTE Axon 20 with the same technology. But the overall viewing experience of that device was very displeasing. The camera module seems prominent when you look at the display from a slight angle.

Xiaomi has outdone ZTE with their CUP technology which ensures the least light diffraction. Therefore, you can barely see the camera housing unless the phone is head from a steep angle.

The 6.67” AMOLED displays show the best quality pictures with a P3 gamut with a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It also has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support for the best quality online content with Widevine L1. When you will experience the best quality pictures, the Micro Dimond Pixels, Re-designed Circuit array, and Specialized Subpixel circuit will cover the camera lens. Again, it will reappear when you are in need of a gorgeous selfie.

Camera

Xiaomi’s phones never disappoint in the camera department. They have good camera hardware and software to back their claims to provide the best from every single one of their products. In this case, it is no different as you are getting a 108MP ISOCELL sensor in the back along with a 13MP ultra-wide and an 8MP periscope zoom camera.

Impressive camera configuration for mobile photographer and videographer

The 100MP sensor is 1/1.33” that provides the highest contrast and the sharpest photos. For low light photography, there is pixel binning technology to enrich noise reduction. It also has OIS for those smooth photos and videos. The ultrawide angle camera has a 120° field of view. It also has autofocus built-in with the help of a free-form lens. The telephoto camera has periscope technology with OIS. You can easily take 5X optical zoom or 50X digital zoom without losing the picture quality.

For crystal clear selfies, Xiaomi has introduced a 20MP CUP camera. It has a size of 1.6μm and 4-in-1 super pixel technology. Thanks to the CUP technology, the display arrays will not interfere with the picture quality. After all, you are paying for a premium offering from Xiaomi so, you should experience premiums from this device.

Processing power

The processing power of mi Mix 4 is an industry-standard. Almost in every flagship device, Xiaomi has provided the processing power from Qualcomm. Mi Mix 4 comes with the Snapdragon 888+ that provides the fastest mobile experience. This device comes equipped with two RAM variants, 8GB and 12GB. LPDDR5 technology and 6400Mbps bus speed ensure the fastest data transfer and the most efficient performance.

The 8GB variant gets 128GB and 256GB options. And, the 12GB variant gets 256GB and 512GB storage options. ROM is equipped with UFS 3.1 technology so, you don’t feel any lag. No matter what you through at it, this smartphone will not hesitate to perform. There is a huge vapor chamber with claimed graphene technology to cool down the processor.

Power

The battery of Xiaomi mi Mix 4 is 4500mAh consists of two units for the fastest charging speed possible. Speaking of charging, you get 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Ultra-fast charging speed for 10% battery backup

According to Xiaomi, a full charge would take about 21mins in the default mode and about 15mins in the boost mode. That means the phone will charge fast to 80% and then trickle charge to 100%. So, when you have finished taking a shower, this phone is fully charged and set for the day.

 Other features

Aside from high-end performance, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has other top-end features for audio as well. There is Harman Kardon Hi-Res audio for both wired and wireless earphones. If you want to play music on the phone, there is a stereo speaker system as well. And it is not a crappie one that distorts at high volume. X-axis linear motor, the famous IR blaster, NFC with Xiaomi’s latest offering UWB point-to-connect feature is also present in this phone.

Unlike Apple, Xiaomi is using its UWB technology to improve network performance. It helps in the high traffic environment. It (mi Mix 4) has a high-quality Qualcomm X60 5G with a 19-antenna array with 42 band supports. Still, the UWB technology will optimize any network configuration for predefined scenarios like airports, train stations, hospitals, concerts, etc.

How are the consumers winning their battle against major tech companies like Apple and Google?

Apple recently faced quite some bash from the internet for the new iPhone 13 series .
