Jon Prosser and Ian Zelbo are back again in the latest Front Page Tech report. But this time, they are not leaking the iPhone 13 information. They brought the design leak an iPhone that is a year away from release. They are giving us a peek at the 14th iteration of the iPhone. Although there is no information on the internals of the upcoming iPhone, Prosser and his team exhibited a visual outlook of it.

The internet is getting nuts for the new iPhone 14 leak. Since it is too early, different news media are giving different opinions. However, the leak is coming from one of the most reputable sources. According to AppleTrack, Jon Prosser is 74.9% accurate with his leaks. So, everyone can take the new iPhone 14 design with a big pinch of salt. Still, there is a 25.1% possibility that this leak is not legit.

Either way, it is making all Apple fans excited for the upcoming year. People have been waiting for so long for Apple to keep up with the design trend of other smartphone manufacturers. Still, Apple was stubborn with its "Precision before market's first" moto. That is why they are still offering hideous notch displays, whereas other major smartphone manufacturers are giving hole-punch screens for the most screen-to-body ratio with their phones. But it looks like Apple is learning from the market trend and changing the strategy.
Alleged iPhone 14 design leak
Prosser had access to a device from a reputable source of his. That source claimed the new device to the iPhone 14. And it seems legit due to the new design. Although the leaks are unofficial renders made by Ian Zelbo, they resemble a reliable news source. Therefore, the whole external design is 100% accurate.

The iPhone 14 will offer a new external design. Although the basics of the new design are the same, the actual scheme is the same. The iPhone still has a metal and glass sandwich design. But it is inspired by the most beautiful iPhone of all time, the iPhone 4 and 4S. The front and back glass curves over the edges and mead the metal frame on the sides.

With the new design, Apple is also getting rid of the renowned camera hump on the pack. The back glass seems flush with the camera lens. So, there is little to no protrusion of the camera lenses. Like the iPhone 4 and 4S, this new iPhone will follow Jony Ive's vision of a seamless back glass design. Unfortunately, the back gets a glossy tempered glass.

If we look at the side of this device, the iPhone 14 will have a titanium alloy housing. But the exposed metal part of the frame is narrower than the actual thickness of the phone. Speaking of breadth, the new iPhone 14 will be thicker than the upcoming iPhone 13. So, it is sure to house a bigger battery inside. And, the smooth back will let the new phone wobble on a flat surface. Therefore, it's a win-win situation for the consumers.

The side button of the new iPhone 14 has the same pill-shaped design. However, the volume keys are different this time. Apple is giving the same rounded key switches for changing the volumes. The new design of the keys is similar to the iPhone 4 and 5 volume keys. So, it looks like Apple is revisiting its past to give the fans what they want.

Jon's source did not give any information about the color variants. So, he and his team came up with their specifications. However, the gold variant is legit since they received photos of it. If Apple offers the same colors from the current iPhone lineups, it will blend marvelously with the new design. Especially the green color looks astonishing in the new layout.

The most crucial change comes to the new display. It seems like Apple will provide a hole-punch screen with the iPhone 14. The pronounced camera housing is on the top center of the screen and right under the speaker grill. According to Prosser, the Face ID modules will be working under the display. Although it is not so impressive as the under-screen camera technology, hole-punch will still improve the viewing experience of this phone.
The legitimacy of the iPhone 14 design leak
Judging by Apple's strategies, they were never the markets first with the new features. They are still offering their hideous notches in the iPhone 13 lineup of phones, whereas others introduced hidden cameras under the displays. Xiaomi and ZTE have released two new phones with this impressive new technology. The Xiaomi Mix 4 and the ZTE Axon 30 5G have well-hidden front-facing cameras which take decent photos and videos. That is why Apple is waiting for the moment when this new technology meets its standard.

However, there is a question of the hole-punch screens will be available with the iPhone 14 or not. If you look at Apple's previous practice, they stuck with the same wide notch design for three years. However, the iPhone 13 is to have a narrower notch this year. If Apple sticks with their principal and continues the smaller indent, the hole-punch design is years apart from releasing.

The famous Kuo Ming-Chi stated that Apple will introduce the hole-punch in 2022. And they will introduce under-display technology in 2023 or 2023. Although Kuo has 76.6% accuracy, according to AppleTrack, he has a good track record in Apple leaks. So, corroborating his analysis with Prosser's leak, the iPhone 14 will have the new hole-punch display upfront for sure.
Conclusions
The new leak if a year apart iPhone 14 seems interesting. However, it is legit or not is yet to see. Right after September the 14th, leakers will jump on the bandwagon of collecting iPhone 14 information. Nonetheless, Prosser has created carnage in the tech world with his new report.
What do you think about the new iPhone 14 design change? Do you feel nostalgic for it? Or does it motivates you to skip the 13 and wait a year for your new phone? Will the iPhone 13 have a poor sales figure due to this new report?
